May 6 2023, two of my disciples – yeah, I dare call them my “disciples” – married.
They’ve known each other from their birth because their parents have all belonged to the same church. So They’ve grown up together from their first breath on this planet and have been best friends to each other for 36 yrs. But they’ve never imagined marrying, so they were really honest about everything, sharing their daily life together all the time.
They say that all of a sudden but so naturally, they realized their love for each other after the guy turned into his 36 and decided to marry very soon. Haha.. how happy I was, indeed it was THE BEST NEWS of this year to the people who know both of them.
When I met them first in the church, I was in my early 20’s and was teaching them with love and great passion, for they were so lovely. They also loved me, therefore we’ve been still in a good relationship even after I left the church for the new one 15 yrs ago.
When they informed me about their marriage, I promised with great pleasure to write a wedding song for them and it was played at their wedding ceremony.
As a composer and a piano player, I feel that I am alive in this kind of moment; writing a song for the people whom I love and playing it in the meaningful moment of their life.
In short, the first picture shows the very identifying moment of myself.
Yes, that’s who I am. 🙂
어쩌면 가장 나다운 순간 II.
축가 작곡&반주, 거기에
결혼식 전체 반주까지 더해지면
내 마음을 담뿍 담아 표현할 수 있으므로
(내 입장에선) 금상첨화
특히,,, 애정하는 사람들을 위해
영혼을 갈아넣으며 만든 노래를
내가 신뢰하는 친구, 혹은
동료 아티스트에게 맡겨
그들의 아름다운 목소리를 통해
피아노로 반주하며 들려줄 때,
행복해 하는 신랑신부의 모습을 마주하고,
낯선 노래를 귀기울여 들었다는
하객분들의 이야기를 전해 들을 때…
나는 내가
내가 되었음을 확인한다.
올해 5월 6일은 그런 날 중 하나였다.
그리고 –
이로써 28번째 축가가 완성되었다. 🙂

애지중지하며 키운(?) 것만은 확실한,, ㅎㅎ
