Since last late spring I’ve written a song, and it took 125 days in total until the completion of the lead sheet.
It was tough; I had to face myself, my emotions, the circumstances, everything. During the process I couldn’t do any other things at all, for it was really tough.
Now I feel so tired, but on the other hand I am thinking, ‘Yeah, I see that I wrote quite a good song.’ because I can feel myself from every element of it. In other words, the song is just me.
O Lord, please take it.
I know that You’ve seen everything and know everything.
I know that You are good, always good, good enough.
And for now, this song is my best which I can make for you.
Love you, Lord.

노래 한 곡의 가사를 쓰고
lead sheet (단선율 악보) 까지 완성하는데 걸린 시간 125일.
늦봄에 시작한 노래는 가을의 중턱에서야 끝이 났다.
이는
자체 최장 기록이었던
허밍러브의 ‘오 마이 여봉’ 을 마무리하는데 걸린 것보다
한달이나 더 긴 시간이다.
이 노래를 쓰는 동안
내 마음을 들여다 보느라 진이 빠져서
다른 작업을 도무지 할 수가 없었다.
너무 징그러워서
너무 치열했더래서 ..
이거, 두 번 다시는 못하겠다.
아니 아예 그럴 일이 없었으면 좋겠다.
그치만,, 한편으로는
퍽 좋은 노래를 썼구나, 하는 생각이 든다.
나라는 존재가,
내 삶이,
온전히, 그리고 오롯이 담긴 노래.
어서 음원으로 만들어야겠다.
